This T-shaped console table consists of a central monolithic pedestal crowned by a large rectangular Soignies stone top. The structure is crafted in studded rosewood and solid mahogany. The front is highlighted by an imposing vertical gilt brass pull. The central body conceals a door opening to reveal an interior layout fitted with storage shelves. The entire piece rests stably on a solid stepped plinth base. Pièce signée. André Sornay developed his first patent in 1932: the concept of “cloutage” that evokes aeroplane rivets. This new assembly technique involved attaching veneered panels onto a structure using small nails (“clous”). The alignment of these nails became both an element of decoration and a trademark. This patent led to the manufacture of limited series of furniture that remained financially accessible.

c. 1936 Console table in rosewood in brass nails

This transformable piece in solid mahogny and mahogany with brass nails consists of an articulated low bookcase structure. When closed, it presents a long linear cabinet with a sliding panel and open shelving compartments. Through an ingenious pivoting mechanism, the upper framework unfolds 90 degrees to create a large perpendicular desk top. The entire piece is outlined by Sornay's patented geometric brass nailing (cloutage), highlighting its architectural lines. Unique piece. In the years following World War I, the reorganization of housing made smaller living spaces a necessity and many designers developed modular furniture systems. These new constraints on space and construction stimulated Sornay’s ingeniousness. He started to design tailor-made or multifunctional furniture as early as 1925.

An ovoid-shaped dinanderie vase with a wide mouth, showcasing Claudius Linossier's characteristic geometric vocabulary. The upper section features a brick-red band inlaid with silver-toned motifs, combining stacked rows of small triangles and a lower row of regular diamond shapes. The main body displays a dark, mottled patina with rich brown, ochre, and golden undertones. Signed "CL. LINOSSIER" under the base

c. 1930 Ovoid dinanderie vase with geometric decoration

A Macassar ebony drop-leaf sideboard. The rectangular top features a rim highlighted by a remarkably delicate ivory inlay designed to mimic a herringbone passementerie pattern. This top is flanked by two retractable lateral drop leaves, each fitted with a circular ivory pull handle from which a white fabric tassel hangs. The structure is supported by four extremely slender, sinuous, and curved tapered legs. This sideboard also features an open lower shelf with a raised border. Certificate from Mr. Jean-Marc Maury.

Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann

c. 1922 Drop-leaf sideboard, "Ruhlmann" model

Lamp crafted from oxidized patinated brass. Its geometric stem consists of two opposing inverted conical forms, joined at the center by a ring. The upper section flares into a cup designed to hold the reflector and lampshade. The entire piece rests on a circular base featuring a scalloped rim at its bottom and equipped with an integrated push-button switch. Unique piece (special commission). Exhibition: Exhibited at the Pavillon du Luminaire in 1937. Certificate: Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Jean-Marc Maury.

1937 Table lamp in oxidized brass

A geometric low side table, known as the "dorique" model, born from the historic collaboration between designer Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann and master lacquerer Jean Dunand. Originally designed in 1913, this unique piece was executed in 1925 for the prominent Lyon silk manufacturer François Ducharne. The table features an octagonal top resting on a powerful central fluted column stem, rigorously evoking the proportions of classical architecture. The entire structure is supported by a thick square plinth base. The oak frame is fully enhanced by a sumptuous, solid dark red lacquer of remarkable sheen and depth, showcasing Jean Dunand's signature craftsmanship. Drawing from 1913 (ref. 1002 AR/1109 N.R.).
