A bridge armchair with a geometric structure in solid and mahogany with brass nails. The solid armrests form a rectilinear architectural design, supported by openwork uprights extending into tapered front legs. The seat and straight backrest are upholstered in a light-colored, textured fabric.
André Sornay developed his first patent in 1932: the concept of “cloutage” that evokes aeroplane rivets. This new assembly technique involved attaching veneered panels onto a structure using small nails (“clous”). The alignment of these nails became both an element of decoration and a trademark. This patent led to the manufacture of limited series of furniture that remained financially accessible.
