An Art Nouveau gilt bronze jardinière featuring a finely sculpted marine motif. The organic, wave-like structure showcases two figures sculpted at opposite ends: a reclining nude nymph resting along the rim with her right arm raised over her face, and a young child emerging from a large conch shell. The sides of the vessel are further decorated with chased relief details of fish and a marine tail.
Signed "HSt Lerche" on the base
