Console table in rosewood in brass nails

This T-shaped console table consists of a central monolithic pedestal crowned by a large rectangular Soignies stone top. The structure is crafted in studded rosewood and solid mahogany. The front is highlighted by an imposing vertical gilt brass pull. The central body conceals a door opening to reveal an interior layout fitted with storage shelves. The entire piece rests stably on a solid stepped plinth base.

André Sornay developed his first patent in 1932: the concept of “cloutage” that evokes aeroplane rivets. This new assembly technique involved attaching veneered panels onto a structure using small nails (“clous”). The alignment of these nails became both an element of decoration and a trademark. This patent led to the manufacture of limited series of furniture that remained financially accessible.

Walnut armchairs with geometric lines, notably characterized by solid wood sides with angular cuts. Their high and slightly inclined backrest fits dynamically into this imposing cubic structure. Pair of pedestal ashtrays in solid walnut with hollowed-out faces. Its upper part accommodates a removable brass receptacle integrated into the center of a square top.
