The central composition features a clever self-reference, representing an ovoid vase characteristic of Claudius Linossier's own creations, generously filled with a bouquet of flowers and foliage. The floral design is rendered through a subtle interplay of oxidations and metallic tones (gold, silver, and copper), which stand out brilliantly against a dark, textured background.

The artwork is beautifully showcased in its wide, original frame created by the renowned Lyonnais cabinetmaker André Sornay. Made of light wood (ash / beech) with a highly pronounced grain, the frame features Sornay's emblematic "cloutage" (studded) technique. Small, evenly spaced metallic nail heads are aligned to highlight the joinery and geometric lines of the woodwork.

Signed and dated "1939 CL.LINOSSIER" in the lower right corner of the composition.

Spherical shaped dinanderie vase. The central part is decorated with a geometric pattern consisting of large dark triangular points contrasting against a finely speckled gray and brown patinated body. The neck is highlighted by a delicate frieze of small silver-toned diamonds. All of the designs and nuances are achieved through the dinanderie technique, made from sheet metal. Signed « CL.Linossier ».

This central band is finely inlaid with golden geometric motifs, combining a rhythmic sequence of volutes and clusters of dots arranged in triangles.
