A pair of "bridge" armchairs in Macassar ebony with brass nails and solid mahogany. The geometric frame features mahogany legs tapering slightly toward the base, straight armrests inset with Macassar ebony panels, and a tall, narrow backrest. The seat is upholstered in brown leather.

André Sornay developed his first patent in 1932: the concept of “cloutage” that evokes aeroplane rivets. This new assembly technique involved attaching veneered panels onto a structure using small nails (“clous”). The alignment of these nails became both an element of decoration and a trademark. This patent led to the manufacture of limited series of furniture that remained financially accessible.
