A fragmentary sculpture in the round depicting the nude torso of a young woman. Crafted from chamotte clay, which gives the surface a raw, textured appearance, the piece is styled in an antique manner, headless, armless, and cut at mid-thigh. The sinuous line of the waist and a slight contrapposto impart a natural, flowing movement to the body. The sculpture rests on its original, slightly stepped cubic fir wood base.
Signed in hollow with the monogram "L.I." and dated 1920.
