Vertical bookcase in red-ochre Oregon pine with brass nails. Its upper portion features an open compartment forming a display niche or bookshelf. The main lower section consists of a solid door extending across the entire width, adorned in its center by an imposing vertical rectangular handle in varnished brass equipped with a small pull knob. The entire piece rests on a solid, integrated plinth base.

Unique piece.

André Sornay developed his first patent in 1932: the concept of “cloutage” that evokes aeroplane rivets. This new assembly technique involved attaching veneered panels onto a structure using small nails (“clous”). The alignment of these nails became both an element of decoration and a trademark. This patent led to the manufacture of limited series of furniture that remained financially accessible.

Pair of pedestal ashtrays in solid walnut with hollowed-out faces. Its upper part accommodates a removable brass receptacle integrated into the center of a square top.
