Tall vertical chest of drawers featured a geometric solid beech framework. The wooden frame houses deep blue lacquered panels on the top, sides, and front facade. The piece opens via five stacked drawers fitted with horizontal solid beech strip handles and rests on extended side panel legs.

André Sornay developed a rapid furniture assembly system, filing various patents for it between 1953 and 1955. This patent, known as the "tigette Sornay," proved to be revolutionary. This process laid the foundation for the entire flat-pack or "kit" furniture system used today. The assembly of the piece is limited to joining a front frame and a rear frame fitted with threaded inserts designed to receive the rods. The nuts are left visible on the front facade.
