Armchair and matching ottoman in solid mahogany featuring a bold architectural design. The geometric dark wood framework encases a deeply cushioned seat and angled backrest upholstered in a light textured fabric. Straight vertical armrest posts and a solid plinth base provide the ensemble with a grounded, powerful modernist presence.
This piece has been created before the nails patent so before 1932. The pre-cloutage production featured strongly built pieces of furniture characterized by their simple lines, constructed in accordance with traditional cabinetmaking practice. At this period most production is 'on order'.
