Large rectangular coffee tablein solid mahogany. The top consists of an inset panel in deep blue lacquered wood. The piece stands on four straight legs joined by open horizontal stretchers, creating a balanced and refined geometric silhouette.
André Sornay developed a rapid furniture assembly system, filing various patents for it between 1953 and 1955. This patent, known as the "tigette Sornay," proved to be revolutionary. This process laid the foundation for the entire flat-pack or "kit" furniture system used today. The assembly of the piece is limited to joining a front frame and a rear frame fitted with threaded inserts designed to receive the rods. The nuts are left visible on the front facade.
