A sofa-bed in oak with brass nails with an architectural and asymmetrical structure. The backrest accommodates two large rectangular cushions mounted on a sliding mechanism. This system allows for easy adjustment of the position for comfort or to clear the space entirely in order to convert the sofa into a bed.

André Sornay developed his first patent in 1932: the concept of “cloutage” that evokes aeroplane rivets. This new assembly technique involved attaching veneered panels onto a structure using small nails (“clous”). The alignment of these nails became both an element of decoration and a trademark. This patent led to the manufacture of limited series of furniture that remained financially accessible.

Pair of pedestal ashtrays in solid walnut with hollowed-out faces. Its upper part accommodates a removable brass receptacle integrated into the center of a square top. This piece has been created before the nails patent so before 1932.
