Rolling bar cabinet

A rolling bar cabinet in solid oak and oak with brass nails. The piece rests on a chamfered plinth base. The front opens via two sliding doors, subtly accented by small square red-lacquered handles, echoing a long vertical handle of the same color on the right side.

The interior layout incorporates three slatted sliding drawers, ideal for the secure storage of glasses or bottles. The upper section is designed with two large lateral sliding pull-out shelves with raised edges, significantly expanding the serving surface.

André Sornay developed his first patent in 1932: the concept of “cloutage” that evokes aeroplane rivets. This new assembly technique involved attaching veneered panels onto a structure using small nails (“clous”). The alignment of these nails became both an element of decoration and a trademark. This patent led to the manufacture of limited series of furniture that remained financially accessible.
