This game set is crafted from studded Oregon pine. The square table rests on four panel legs joined at the base by an ebonized cruciform stretcher. It is accompanied by its four original bridge armchairs, characterized by a medallion-shaped Oregon pine backrest accented with brass cabochons, a geometric ebonized wood frame, and an upholstered seat.

Oregon pine was treated in several stages. The wood was first worked with a metal brush to create relief, then stained in black and finally sanded on the surface. The recessed grain therefore remained black while that in relief retrieved its original orangey colour. With this treatment Sornay created a random two colour pattern made up of of long, sinuous, black and orangey waves, evocative of magnetic waves.

Walnut armchairs with geometric lines, notably characterized by solid wood sides with angular cuts. Their high and slightly inclined backrest fits dynamically into this imposing cubic structure. The deep seat, backrest, and armrest upholstery are covered in a textured light fabric. Ref. « signé sornay. » p.345. This piece has been created before the nails patent so before 1932. The pre-cloutage production featured strongly built pieces of furniture characterized by their simple lines, constructed in accordance with traditional cabinetmaking practice. Pair of pedestal ashtrays in solid walnut with hollowed-out faces. Its upper part accommodates a removable brass receptacle integrated into the center of a square top. This piece has been created before the nails patent so before 1932.
