A tall occasional table featuring a profoundly modernist and architectural design, highly characteristic of Pierre Chareau's work. The piece is constructed from broad, clean, geometric planes of solid mahogany, highlighting the natural warmth and grain of the wood.
The flat, rectangular top is supported by two wide, solid vertical uprights. The base is stabilized by two slanted intersecting planes forming an inverted "V" (or an open book shape), complemented by subtle extending feet at the bottom of the uprights. The overall composition commands attention through its rigorous lines, completely devoid of superfluous ornamentation.
